What are considered the ranking/ratings of all empirical journals in Social/Personality Psychology?

From PsychWiki - A Collaborative Psychology Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search
  • While there is virtually unanimous agreement that JPSP is the top empirical journal in Social/Personality psychology, the ranking/ratings of other journals can be separated into general groupings such as first tier, second tier, and third tier.
  • The groupings/tiers are only intended to convey a general ordering of the journals, and is not meant to convey that any one journal is ranked/rated higher or lower than any other journal within that grouping, and is not meant to convey that there are strict boundaries between groupings.
  • There are undoubtedly many people who will disagree with the general ordering presented below, because judging journal prestige is a highly subjective process. Also, the actual quality of a journal probably changes much more quickly than people's perceptions of that journal do.
  • So please feel free to amend or modify the information on this page because the evolving nature of a wiki encourages people to provide input to more accurately reflect the field's point of view on these issues.
