Other Wikis
From PsychWiki - A Collaborative Psychology Wiki
As far as we know, ours is the only social psychology specific wiki around, but there are other websites with social psychology specific information. The idea of this wiki is to serve a specific audience (social and personality psychology researchers) very well by creating a niche wiki site and so the content on these sites may differ from ours in terms of that focus.
Personality Pedagogy
Personality Pedagogy is a “wiki” for the teaching of personality psychology at all levels: high school, undergraduate, and graduate.

Wikipedia - The Mother of All Wikis
There is an extensive social psychology section within Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_psychology
Articles on Wikipedia tend to be more focused on the casual user rather than the serious behavioral scientist. Still there is a lot of impressive content there and you'll find links to their content on various pages within Psychwiki.
The Psychology Wiki
The Psychology Wiki differs from www.PsychWiki.com in that the latter is a specialist social psychology wiki.
The Psychology Wiki's mission is to create an online resource that places the entire body of Psychology as a discipline in the hands of its users, be they academics, practitioners or users of psychology services.
The idea is to move away from the current state of the discipline, with different and competing paradigms and perspectives, and where the accumulated knowledge of countless psychology papers is inaccessible due to the nature of the journal publication model and instead move towards are more freely available and integrated discipline.
The Psychology Wiki intends to eventually provide Psychology knowledge on the desktop, instead of in libraries and limited journal subscriptions, so that it is available in a free and timely manner, to all people who may need it.
The Psychology Wiki differs from Wikipedia psychology articles in that:
- 1) It is intended to contain all of the discipline of psychology, like a giant meta-textbook, rather than an Encyclopedia.
- 2) It will therefore go into much greater technical detail than one would have in an encyclopedia. It will have full academic referencing.
- 3) It will have user experiences relating to psychology issues on seperate user pages, protected by admins, allowing POV to be expressed on these pages only. The rest of the wiki is NPOV, but expression of personal experience is nessesary and desireable on our wiki.
- 4) It will have course content pages from academic and clinical courses with links to internal wiki articles.
- 5) It will be a place for researchers to discuss latest papers etc...
We would sincerely like for the contributors at www.PsychWiki.com to join with us, becoming administrators and taking care of the Social Psychology articles aspect of our site, as experts. At this time we are are still seperate, but would still like to merge at some point in the future.
The Psychology Wiki is commercially funded, with Google Ads paying for bandwidth, storage and technical support. The founders and administrators make no money from the site, it is just to pay for the necessities of running a large content website. It is possible that in the future we may move our content elsewhere and to a different funding model.
Good luck with the Social Psychology project here, we can continue to use each others content and resources in the meantime.
