Definition

A dependent variable is the variable that is hypothesized to have relationship with independent variable.


Application

In "NPR: Don't Stand So Close To Me" video, the dependent variable was the reactions the virtual people would make when the investigator stood too close or stared for too long at their virtual self and invading their space. Some of the reactions were to move away, physically moved them away, and even fly away.
